Beaufort and Skipton Health Service have an Optometry Service.
Optometry services are located in:
Beaufort just off the Western Highway on Havelock Street, Beaufort.
Optometrists help people who have problems with their eyes or have difficulty seeing. They conduct eye exams, prescribe corrective contact lenses and glasses, and diagnose and treat eye disease.
What services are provided by Optometrists?
An optometrist examines, diagnoses, treats and manages diseases of the visual system, the eye and associated structures. Optometrists also treat injuries to the eye but do not perform surgery.
Optometrists prescribe optical aids, such as contact lenses or glasses, and advice on the type of lenses and materials most appropriate for individual needs.
Optometrists also provide an important function in the diagnosis of conditions such as diabetes or hypertension and other diseases where symptoms appear in the eye. They also specialise in eye exercise therapies and programs to correct eye disorders.
