The Vegie Patch
The community garden in Beaufort has a new name "The Vegie Patch" and a new eye-catching logo. Things are moving along and the garden is expanding. New community beds are going in for community members to use and enjoy; along with the 16 garden plots used by members of the garden to grow and enjoy their own local produce. We have moved the compost bins to give us room to put in another water tank.
Everyone's vegies are growing nicely with Garlic, Lettuce, Silverbeet, Asian Greens and Broad Beans popular with most. Many of the members have also grown a range of companion plants including herbs and even sold them to local stores and many donating the funds back in to the garden or given vegies away to others in the community. We all look forward to another fruitful year in the garden and thank the Beaufort RSL for their continued support. Happy Gardening!
Community garden beds are located around the edge of the garden and clearly marked. If you would like to try your hand at gardening pop along to the garden where there is always a friendly face around to assist you even if you are a beginner.
Everyone is welcome.
